ODPC Handbell Choir Praise in Motion
The ODPC Handbell Choir provides service music throughout the year in the traditional worship service on Sundays at 11:00 and on occasion in the contemporary worship service at 9:30. These talented ringers also provide music for special services and for church ministries such as Hope’s Kitchen and the ACCESS Youth Ministry Dinner. Handbell ensembles, consisting of fewer ringers, play for seasonal services such as cantatas and Maundy Thursday.
Our director, Linda Downes, has led handbell choirs for over 40 years and works with the ringers in providing a ministry that brings glory to God in a unique and fun way. We are fortunate to have 4+ octaves of handbells and 3 octaves of handchimes, providing a challenge to our ringers and a wonderful sound to the listeners!
If you have previous handbell experience, or can read music, and are interested in learning how you can be a part of this exciting ministry, contact Linda Downes at firstname.lastname@example.org, or the church office at 843-249-2312.
Rehearsals are on Wednesdays from 5:00-6:15pm – September through April – in the handbell room, which is adjacent to the choir room.
