YOU CAN PROVIDE HOPE IN CHRIST’S NAME RIGHT NOW!
The historic flooding from hurricane Florence is slowly receding. Ocean Drive Presbyterian Church is at work, providing supplies to families impacted by the storm, and helping our church members and residents of our local area (North Myrtle Beach, Little River, Longs, etc.) with property damage. Some have lost everything in the flooding! As the flood waters recede we are working diligently to ascertain who has been affected, to what degree, and to provide help where needed. We want to provide those affected with hope! And right now you can help ODPC respond in several ways:
ODPC is currently taking donations for our church’s local relief efforts – Make checks payable to ODPC, and in the memo area indicate “THE RELIEF FUND” You can also give to THE RELIEF FUND online by CLICKING HERE.
We are partnering with Hearts with Hands, a local non-profit Christian organization, to provide food boxes to the communities of Green Sea, Fair Bluff, Nichols, Mullins and Loris who have been greatly affected by the recent flooding from Hurricane Florence. You can help by dropping off the following specific food items THIS WEEK Oct 3-5 at the church during normal business hours. [Wednesday-Thursday 9-5, Friday 9-2]
Food items needed:
- Peanut butter
- Pull-top Can Goods (Soups, Vegetables, Ravioli, Meats)
- Breakfast (Pop Tarts, Granola Bars)
- Individual Fruit (Applesauce, Fruit cups, Pudding)
- Individual Snacks (Crackers, Rice Krispies)
As people begin to gain access to their homes and property, other specific individual needs will become better known. Until then, the following Material Donations are urgently needed. Items can be dropped off at the church Monday through Thursday 10am to 2pm, and Sundays from 9am to Noon.

We are also organizing volunteer work teams to help with the upcoming cleanup, relief and repair work. This is expected to include clearing debris, and making emergency or permanent repairs to homes. We are also enlisting people to support these work teams by providing them with meals, drinks and transportation. If you can be part of a work team, or help support a work team (meals, transportation, etc.) please contact the church office at 843-249-2312.
We are coordinating our response efforts with multiple relief agencies, including World Renew, an ECO Partner Relief Organization. As World Renew and other volunteers come to our area to assist we may call upon ODPC work team members to assist them in the field, and to provide them with housing and other needs.
